I have been a huge fan of Star Wars since I was a little kid. Since my childhood I have always been picking up the novels, video games, movies...you name it. I think I have watched my Star Wars movie collection more than regular TV hehe. I am a major geek when it comes to the EU, or the Expanded Universe. I have had my nose in that aspect of Star Wars lore for a very long time. So to say the least my knowledge of Star Wars canon and lore is exceptional. I have been told I am like a walking talking Wookieepedia. I am one of those guys that know about the weirdest things that nobody else has read up on when it comes to Star Wars ha. Hey, those geeks can come in handy sometimes you know.

5. What type of role do you wish to take within the guild? How do you plan to be active? Please be specific.*

When you break the question down to gaming I plan on taking an active role wherever I am needed. I enjoy all three aspects of an online game. I fancy myself a raider, a roleplayer, and a PvP'er...although I do admit that my RP will come first in most cases. My raiding experience has dragged me through several games although I was only a raid leader in one (Lord of the Rings Online) and a regular in most others. Thanks to my first game ever, SWG, I have become a decent PvP'er and like taking part in that aspect at times. I have Bria, the most brutal PvP server that I didn't realize when I chose it, on my list of PvP experience that hopefully counts for something. What a nightmare that server was haha.

As for any other role, if that is what the question intended, I plan on being one of the regular's on here if I fit in. I have many years of leadership under my belt but that's just an extra little side dish to all this. As of right now my role in the guild would be a solid, loyal member who takes part in guild activities. I try to be as active as I can between my job and real life, sometimes I may be out of the picture for a few days now and then but that's usually not the case..

6. Why do you feel the Army of Light is a good fit for you?*

Well honestly I don't know if its a good fit yet. Its definitely a place I want to join and find out though! I determine is a guild is right for me after being on trial. That way I have to time to see if I fit in with the crowd and experience the guild first hand. Why I chose this community as a hopeful home is because I love to RP, this is a RP guild so that's bonus points right there. I have also known AL since its humble beginnings being a long time Remnant's of Hope vet. Sure the guilds had a rivalry for a bit but big deal. Lets face it...while it lasted it was fun. Just child's play really for each side to blow some steam. But if I didn't think AL was a good place to settle down in then I wouldn't apply.

7. What do you expect of the guild? Please be specific.*

I expect little, simple things to be honest. Activity would be one of them, and that goes without saying. An inactive guild is a dead one. Loyal membership is another on my list. I know people come and go from guilds all the time but I'm not into the real deep drama 24/7 which I know some guilds thrive on. Friendly membership is the last one. Wouldn't you want to feel welcome if you were new?

I have been involved in roleplay one way or another for at least eleven years. My experience ranges from forum work such as these (at the moment) to actual online games and live chat roleplays. I have done some tabletop RP's as well although I find them to be a little boring hehe. I really do have a passion for RP, and enjoy being a part of grand scale stories or small ones. Strict roleplay, loose roleplay, canon, non-canon...its just something I can't get enough of when I am gaming.

Any of these kind of roleplays would meet expectations for me honestly as I enjoy most forms of it. I have not been in a live RP in quite some time, like on Xat, and I am hoping the guild does those from time to time still. It is something that my previous guild moved on from and I regret that.

11. How can you benefit and help the guild? Please include any skills or talents you have that you would enjoy doing within the guild. How have you helped your previous guild(s), if you have previous experience?*

I have been around the block with online gaming and guilds for a little over eleven years. As a regular member I am seasoned in the ways of gaming hehe and really know my way around a MMO. With raiding, PvP, and many years of RP experience I can benefit the guild by just being a good solid member. Otherwise my other speciality is leadership. As cheeky as this is all going to sound I don't know how else to say it. I have been a leader is just about any place I have been. I am extremely organized and like to think I sport a nice level head in most situations. Almost all of those games I listed above that I have placed I was either a officer or a leader of a guild. As an example, here is what I have done for my most previous guild, Remnants of Hope:

۞ Became a Jedi Master and taught three students during that time.

۞ Chosen to become the Grand Master's advisor.

۞ Accepted President of the Social Council.

۞ Elected to the NJO High Council

۞ Elected to the Council of Masters and served until its end.

۞ Member of the Recruitment Team.

۞ Elected to the new Elder Council.

۞ Accepted the role of General in the Trooper Division.

۞ Revamped the entire division. Before I left the guild it was the most refined and active division in the guild. No joke there hehe.

۞ Became a High Elder/High General (One of three top leaders in the guild.)

In between some of that I had left for about half a year to run my own small RP guild known as Station Gamma. Ultimately I shut it down due to it not being what I envisioned for a guild. This is my experience with just Remnants...if I did every guild I was ever in I would be writing a novel.

12. How do you define a quality member?*

Activity is a given. Being an active member to community is like being a piece of the larger puzzle. It helps your guild, and in return it helps you. A quality member should always put the guild before himself/herself.

This means contribution. It is a big deal to me when it comes to always throwing out new ideas or trying out new things. It is always something you should be doing as a member. There is nothing wrong with trying to make the guild your in a better place to be. Then of course being friendly! Guilds are highly social communities, so being there for others when they need help, and just being friendly can go a long way.

13. How did you find the Army of Light? Did someone recruit you? If so, please let us know who.*

I have known Army of Light since its creation. I have been a regular visitor for a few years now.

14a.Have you visited our website and chat room, and familiarized yourself with the, Charter, Mission Statement, and Rules of Conduct? (You must answer in the affirmative and please prove that you have)*

As I stated before I have been a regular visitor, but recently I have been to the embassy chat room and looked around the website as much as my current status allows me. Yes, I have familiarized myself with all of your rules and regulations. As a man who has made many in the past, you have my word on respecting and reading your own.

14b. Do you pledge to fulfill them, most notably to uphold the virtues of Maturity, Honor, Respect, Personal Ethics and No Drama?*

I absolutely do.

14c. The Army of Light wishes to have members who take the concept of Commitment and Loyalty very seriously. By applying and if accepted, you are taking an Oath to both the guild and your guild-mates here. Is this something to which you can commit?

I always perform the best I can. I am committed and loyal to whatever community of people I am working/playing with. I can understand your serious expectations of a high quality member but I am not an oath swearer. I apologize for this, it is nothing personal. I am still a man of my word in every aspect of following rules and regulations.

15. Would you say that you embody the qualities of Respect, Honor, Loyalty, and Maturity? What are your definitions of these four words? Please don’t just answer yes or no, let us know why you think you possess these qualities.*

Respect- To honor, or hold in regard or quite simply show consideration. Respect is vital for a community survive. Without respect for one another in at least its most minimal form there is nothing to build from.

Honor- A word that is different for everyone. To me honor is a code to live by. Respect for yourself and others, to show worth and merit by doing the "right thing".

Loyalty- One who has loyalty shows true companionship. The are by your side no matter what the cost or the odds. There is much honor and respect in just this one word.

Maturity- To me being "mature" means you can take responsibility for your actions and face the consequences. Respectful, loyal...to me this is true maturity.

As you see I believe all of these words to work hand in hand. They are a group that is best used when put together. Do I find myself to be each of these fullest? No, I do not. I don't believe anyone can by their own standard or others. To each these words may have a different definition. But by mine I know there is room to improve. I do like to believe that I live my life as close to these as I can.

16. Tell us about a time you offered assistance to someone who did not ask for it but clearly needed it. If you have never had this experience, tell us what you would do if faced with that situation?

I think one of the more memorable examples of this is when a mother and a acquaintance in my community discovered her daughter had a brain tumor. With my very close family, and many friends in the association, we ran a charity event for her to raise money for the medical bills and treatment. It turned out to be a very big event and really brought an entire community together. She needed the help of other people, and there were many who answered the call from all over. It was grand, and I was proud to be a part of it all.

17. Role-play Scenario (please tell us how you would handle the situation): You are leading a group of 3 others through a forest on a remote moon to destroy an enemy communications relay. Up ahead in a clearing, you happen to spot a small Sith camp. Your group has not yet been spotted by the enemy. You are reasonably well supplied for your mission, including armaments. The clearing containing the Sith camp is not necessarily in your direct path to reach your original mission objective. Attacking the camp could alert the guards at the relay. However, attacking the relay without first dealing with the camp could mean enemy reinforcements from the camp. What do you do?

It could go either way with this situation. Depending on the type of team I have it could be a very covert operation, in and out. I would avoid the camp and do what my main objective required. But instinct would tell me it would be a good idea to neutralize any threat in the immediate area if my team is reasonably heavy on equipment...which means less stealthy three people or not. It would still have to be a quick strike, starting with a communications jam to make sure no distress signals are made during the assault. We would have to move in right after before they are alerted to their communications halt.

There are a lot of coulds in this scenario. The camp could be a large number, or a small group like us. Depending on that my approach would be different each time. For a small camp it would be a quick clean sweep of melee or short ranged bombardment. For a larger camp my initial ambush would be a little more safer. If there were any explosive objects in the camp those would be targeted first for more widespread damage. Grenades and charges would be more appropriate to use. Spread damage and confusion fast with only three people. During that the rest would be picked off by ranged weapons from the cover of the trees, or whatever environment that planet has.

18. In more than 50 but less than 200 words, please describe your personal character and the type of person you are (We wish to get a good feel of the type of person that will be becoming a part
of our guild family - a very important question!)*

I may come off as stuffy in this application, thats only because you are seeing my more organized and professional side. While I am a quiet and reserved man at times I do like to have fun and I enjoy being around people and socializing. My character is very much based off my own personality in these ways. I am not going to lie though, like my character, I have been told I am gruff at times. I am someone who likes to get the job done by being either a follower or a leader.

I act strongly on my own sense of moral justice in many situations both in real life and out when I am faced with difficult scenarios. I may be a little laconic but I am not a horrible person to be around heh, it has been said by my co-workers that I reflect that of a father figure. Which is odd considering I have no children heh. All in all I like to believe I have a nice level head, and despite what it looks like I am very approachable. I am someone who likes to help you with your troubles, so you always have someone to talk to.

19. Tell us a little about your in-game character*
-Character Name: Borsalino Bege

-Character Physical/Mental Features: Extremely tall, 6'8. Lean however not lanky. Well toned. Skin color is slightly tanned. Notable burn scar over left eye. Short black, greying hair. Overall sports a decently groomed appearance.

Personality wise Bege is a very quiet man. Many suspect it is only that he doesn't have much to say. Most of his personality is an enigma to even those considered "close" to him. He is drop dead serious in almost every situation and always seems to know how to handle said situation. A seasoned Trooper, Bege is wise and knowledgeable.

-Character Biography:

(Currently Non-Canon. This was written a long time ago, almost eight years, and I have yet to revise dates that make sense!)

Borsalino Bege was born on the planet known as Lorrd, in the Kanz Sector. This planet was indeed home to the Lorrdians, a human race, or sometimes classified as near human race, that carried a unique culture and history.

Unfortunately Bege was born during a historical conflict known as the Kanz Disorders. It was the last few years of the struggle, however that didn't make it any easier to live in. The occupation of the Lorrdian people had been stretched from the Mandalorian wars to the present Great Galactic War that now ravaged the galaxy. These years of battle and bloodshed had taken more than a toll on the people of Lorrd for the Kanz Disorders was nearly genocide. Almost three hundred years of slavery and torture.
The Argazdans of the planet Argazda had broken from their Republic allies and flocked under a new banner, the banner of Myrial, the Provisional Governor of Argazda. While her forces had claimed much of the sector while the Republic was preoccupied with other wars many worlds and its people had fallen under the military power forged the forces of Myrial moved to take Amaltannan. Amaltannan had revolted with the Lorrdians as allies and supporters. Eventually Amaltannan was taken, and as punishment for the aid of their neighbors the Lorrdians were enslaved.

Bege had spent much of his early life and childhood in desperate conditions. Many times he was on the verge of starvation, many times on the verge of death itself. It was rare for children to survive these harsh conditions however Bege had fought through it all. Little did he, or anyone else know it was the Force pushing him to survive. All family but his father had died, or been dead since he was but a small child.

As a result he formed a father son relationship that could not be explained by words. And words was not an option at the time anyhow. Lorrdians were forbidden by their masters from communicating with each other. As a result, they were forced to develop a system of subtle gestures, facial expressions, and body postures to talk to each other. This is how Bege grew up, and the ability to speak was beyond him.

Though watched carefully there were resistances formed, and his father was one of the commanders of a secret revolutionary army that had been forming well before Borsalino had been alive. The dreaded slave pits of Lorrd had many passages, and some of which even its masters were not aware of.
Around 3,670 BBY, the Lorrdian Jedi Knight Mari-Elan Nora led a joint Jedi and Republic task force to liberate the Kanz Sector. Fighting along side the revealed revolutionary army the occupying army a brilliant battle had engulfed the planet and surrounding space for weeks. A now eighteen year old Bege fought proudly with his father and the Jedi Knight quelling the Argazdans and their leaders. The battle was finally won, the sector restored however not without cost. Over 500 million Lorrdians, and nearly five billion other people, were killed during the Kanz Disorders, until the Republic and the Jedi brought the Kanz Sector back under control.

Mari-Elan Nora, the Jedi Knight sent to aid the resistance had taken notice of young Bege during the battles as she personally did battle with him and his father. Restoration did not come quickly or was as simple as one would think. Over three hundred years of damage, and it would take more than one Lorrdian's lifetime to make things better again. Mari-Elan by this point had known Borsalino Bege was a talented warrior.

In need of more allies explained how Bege must be brought in for more formal Republic military training, even at his young age. His father grudgingly accepted hoping the two natives would stay behind to help rebuild. Nora had left with Bege leaving behind Republic forces to aid the new Lorrdian government in which his father was now a key figure.

Borsalino Bege was now on the path to becoming a Republic soldier, something a low Lorrdian slave would never dream of. It was going to be hell.
