I would like to note to I have talked to Grand Master Jephos Mispir in chat about beginning my trail membership in April upon completion of my school finals. I hope you find my application to be satisfactory and look forward to finding out if I am accepted.

I have seen all the star wars movies (maybe 20 times over?) and Watched quite a bit of “The Clone Wars” series.

I have played several of the Star Wars games including Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2, Battlefront 1 and 2, Empire at War and its expansion, Most of the Jedi Knight series, Republic Commando, Rouge Squadron, X-Wing Alliance, X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter and its expansion, Galactic Battlegrounds and its expansion, A bit of the Lego Star Wars series, and many of the NES, SNES and Game Boy titles.

I have read the Jedi Search Trilogy, many out of the Rouge Squadron series, and the novel Shatterpoint.

On top of all of this I have a vast knowledge learned from various sources over the years in my quest to gain as much knowledge of the Star Wars universe as I can.

For My World of Warcraft Character Virgilio I played in 3 guilds on the same server, I have put just the guild names and level I was when I left for the 2^nd and 3^rd entry.

5. What type of role do you wish to take within the guild? How do you plan to be active? Please be specific.*

I will be playing a Tank, As such I will take responsibility for keeping the party safe when questing as a group and during dungeon and raids. I intend to be helpful, giving advice and guidance to new players and helping experienced players better themselves where I can. I have no intention of trying to get up in the ranks and earning a position running the guild as I know from experience this is a full time job and cannot devote that much time to gaming, however I will take the initiative and help out if it becomes necessary for me to do so. I intend to put several hours a week into the game. That being said I do maintain a full-time job and as such my time during the week may be limited. However I do enjoy playing a bit after a long day’s work and whenever I am not doing anything else on weekends so I will not have a problem with activity.



6. Why do you feel the Army of Light is a good fit for you?*

In all honesty the first thing I look for in a guild is its name. I am not the type of person who wants to be associated with a guild that has a crude name. So Army of Light is a creative name that I would not mind being under. Now onto the reasons I think I would like this guild. First, I am looking for a role-playing guild. After examining several other guilds out there this one seemed to be the friendliest and seems to have a good backing for role-play. This guild also seems to be well established so far and has a good player base. With these things in mind I would be proud to bear the name of Army of Light.



7. What do you expect of the guild? Please be specific.*

I don’t have high expectations out of a guild. I do expect to be able to play together with my guild mates, but hey that’s what a guild is for is it not? That being said, from my guild mates I expect mature and friendly attitude, even if you don’t consider me a friend we’re all in this together and we have to make the most of it. If my guild mates can act in this fashion I am happy to call them my kin.

10 Role-Play experience/expectations. Can you give us some examples of Role-Playing you have participated in before. When it comes to expectations, give us an example of what would be fun to participate in, what you are looking for, etc.*

I have played Freelancer Discovery on the 24/7 RP server which is a strictly role-playing server. I played a light fighter pilot in the Bretonia Armed Forces, as well as a heavy freighter Captain for Border World Exports. All communication between players in this game was done strictly in role-play and applications for factions were also done in role-play though the forums. Apart from that I have done online role-playing on various forums and through Skype, MSN and Yahoo messengers with friends of mine. I also play a Dungeons and Dragons campaign with a fairly large group, usually 6-9 people.

As to what I expect from role-play. I like story in a game, I don’t wish to play with people who don’t care about the story and just randomly click options for there dialogue. I will enjoy playing with people who pay attention to detail in the story and who play according to their characters background. An example of what I’d think is fun to participate in: After leaving a dungeon we role-play heading out to relax and talk about how the mission went. After talking for a bit something comes up and we all decide we’d better head out for another adventure together to keep the republic safe. (Time granted, if not we say our goodbyes and head off to bed)



11. How can you benefit and help the guild? Please include any skills or talents you have that you would
enjoy doing within the guild. How have you helped your previous guild(s), if you have previous experience?*

Once I have learned the game play elements of The Old Republic I will be able to use this and my knowledge of other video games and MMO’s to help people who are learning the game and help better people who are already skilled at the game when I can. Having played mainly damage dealing classes in the majority of games I play, I have a vast knowledge of the best ways to play these classes. I can impart this knowledge to new and skilled players alike to help them improve themselves. I have also lead role-play in the past as a dungeon master. I am happy to help create story for any role-playing we may do as a guild and, should we have member with less role-play experience, help guide them and offer whatever advice I can. In my old guilds I stepped up to take leadership roles when it was required of me to do so, taking care of things such as recruitment, raid leading and member evaluations for those that were thought to be breaking the rules or were up for promotion.



12. How do you define a quality member?*

A quality member is one who does not expect free things from their guild mates. We’re here to help but we’re not a charity. A quality member is friendly and willing to help out their guild mates. A quality member is mature and respectful keeping constantly on his/her mind that he/she bears the name of the guild and any wrong they do gives us a bad name.



13. How did you find the Army of Light? Did someone recruit you? If so, please let us know who.*

I found the Army of Light using the pre-launch guild program from the official Old Republic site.

I can commit to taking an oath to be loyal and fully committed to my guild and guild-mates.



15. Would you say that you embody the qualities of Respect, Honor, Loyalty, and Maturity? What are your definitions of these four words? Please don’t just answer yes or no, let us know why you think you possess these qualities.*

Respect: Treating others well. I embody the quality of Respect in that I treat others the way I wish to be treated and do not judge anyone based on their sex, race, or their personal beliefs. Honor: Doing what is morally right despite the circumstances, not leaving anyone behind. I embody the quality of Honor in that I never take advantage of people, I’d rather work hard to get something done then take advantage of people. Loyalty: Devoting yourself to one party and not straying from that path no matter how hard things get, supporting that party and not doing anything to harm that party directly or indirectly. I embody the quality of Honor in that I always support my friends, family, co-workers and guild mates. I do my best to not leave their side in times of need and support them when the situation is not the best. Maturity: Taking responsibility for all your actions. I embody the quality of Maturity in that when I make mistakes I own up to them, I do not protest to a situation if I know I am in the wrong and I act as responsibly as I can.



16. Tell us about a time you offered assistance to someone who did not ask for it but clearly needed it. If you have never had this experience, tell us what you would do if faced with that situation?

I, having played a mage since the start of my World of Warcraft experience, would offer assistances to new mages who looked like they did not know what they were doing. Often times this involved a quick whisper to players stating I notice that there doing something in a particular way and that they can do it in a different way much more efficiently.



17. Role-play Scenario (please tell us how you would handle the situation): You are leading a group of 3 others through a forest on a remote moon to destroy an enemy communications relay. Up ahead in a clearing, you happen to spot a small Sith camp. Your group has not yet been spotted by the enemy. You are reasonably well supplied for your mission, including armaments. The clearing containing the Sith camp is not necessarily in your direct path to reach your original mission objective. Attacking the camp could alert the guards at the relay. However, attacking the relay without first dealing with the camp could mean enemy reinforcements from the camp. What do you do?

I would suggest to my group that bypassing such a camp would be in our best interest and would advise my group how to do so in as stealthy a manner as possible. However should my group wish to eliminate the camp against my judgement I would discus with them an appropriate strategy to eliminate the camp without the guards being able to alert the relay ahead, possibly destroying any communications equipment on site before engaging the enemy directly then concentrating on any taking down any enemy that may be carrying their own communication devices before engaging any other enemies.



18. In more than 50 but less than 200 words, please describe your personal character and the type of person you are (We wish to get a good feel of the type of person that will be becoming a part
of our guild family - a very important question!)*

I am 20 years old. I enjoy playing video games and role-playing games such as Dungeons and Dragons. I am friendly and like to help out when I can. I try to use as much patients as possible when dealing with people new to a game so I can help them to learn. I enjoy a friendly guild environment where people help each other out and play together.



19. Tell us a little about your in-game character*



-Character Name: Jaedon Phoenix
-Character Physical/Mental Features: 6’ tall, short dark brown hair, clean shaven. At 220 lbs he carries a fairly large build but with an equal balance of bone muscle and extra stock he’s just as graceful in melee combat as any other. Although his Jedi Teaching tell him otherwise he gets easily attached to his companions and they can often sway his iron will if only slightly. He carries his title of Jedi proudly and is slightly head strong, often swaying slightly from the Jedi ways. Though this means some may call him a “Gray Jedi” those that know him know he follows the light as strong as any Jedi that came before him.
-Character Biography: Jaedon came into the order at an older age then most, this may be why he finds it more difficult to control emotions of attachment. The force often shows him opportunities other Jedi would leave be, opportunities to which he does not hesitate to take advantage of. In this way some find say he follows the path of the Gray Jedi but this is far from the truth. He is just as selfless as any other Jedi and those that know him well are quick to dismiss the tales of him being a Gray Jedi saying “He is just as devoted to the light as any of the masters of this order, if not more”. Through his training he learned all he could to protect the Order, The Republic, and the Galaxy as a whole. At a young age he adopted the path of the guardian, learning all he could to be a shield for his allies and those who could not fight for themselves. Now as the Galaxy is on the brink of war Jaedon is training hard and strong to prepare for the battles that are imminent in his future.

After you have been here 1 week and have done the aforementioned, you
must then interview with myself or Supreme Master Caliber Mispir to pass
into Full Membership.

With that successfully completed, you will report to the Jedi branch
leaders (Supreme Master Caliber Mispir and Master Shoja Fodun) for general class
branch training and to Major Bren Durron for Squadron/Platoon
assignment. Squadrons will act as your home within your home and help
acclimate you to guild life and try to answer any questions you may
have.
