1. Character Name (this will be your name on the site
and forums):*
Cosan

2. Class (Jedi Consular, Jedi Knight,
Smuggler, or Trooper):*
Jedi Knight

3. Please describe your knowledge of
Star Wars? The more detailed the better, please: *

Hrm…it really depends what is
considered canon for star wars knowledge. I love reading the Star Wars books (I
can’t really remember which ones, but I loved The Courtship of Princess Leia.
Excellent book. I grew up watching the original trilogy (my family wore out two
box sets and were working on the third). I have seen the new trilogy and played
both KOTOR 1 and 2. I do my best to keep up to date on the information released
by Bioware on the website, but working full time and going to school full time
rather limits my ability to keep things straight sometimes.

4. Please tell us about your other guild/MMO
experiences. If there is more than one guild/experience, please include all of
them. If you left your last guild, please tell us why you decided to leave. If
you have used more than one name, please list them all.*

Guild Name (Reason for leaving if applies): Aetherial Circle

The reason I left Aetherial Circle
was because I could not handle raiding full-time (A 25-man and 10-man group),
going to school full-time, working nights full-time, and give my girlfriend
(now my fiancé!) the attention she deserved. So, I stopped playing, not because
I didn’t enjoy the game or I wasn’t in a guild that could raid with the best on
the server (The Guild was server First to get the Fountain Change in Dalaran,
and I think we were the only guild on the server to get Herald of the Titans.).
I left because my body couldn’t handle the lack of sleep, and my mind couldn’t
handle the stress of juggling so many things.

-Game: World of Warcraft
-Name:
Cosan (He was my main)
-Level:
80
-Server:
Drenden
-Class:
Paladin
-Race:
Human

5. What type of role do you wish to
take within the guild? How do you plan to be active? Please be specific.*

I do plan to be fairly active in
the guild, but that activity may be limited by the time my fiancé may demand of
me, or the time demands of school or work. I will be as active as I can, but I
can’t really say how active until the game comes out and I see how it will fit
in my schedule.

6. Why do you feel the Army of Light
is a good fit for you?*

I feel that the Army of Light is a
good fit for me because I play MMOs for the human element present within. I
love to sit back and banter with guildies in an OoC chat environment, or RP
with guildies in a Cantina on Tatooine. I enjoy having that relaxed, yet mature
atmosphere of a guild like Army of Light, and I love to help new players out. I
can’t see a better guild where I would be able to do that. I love how in-depth
you guys go with the lore and story of the game, and I can’t wait to sit down
over Vent or in one of the Online Chats and listen to one of the teachers hash
out Star Wars Knowledge.

7. What do you expect of the guild? Please be specific.*

I expect a guild where people are
mature, where the problems are handled in a way that, while possibly not making
everyone happy, making everyone content with the results. I expect the guild to
be filled with people who come together, no matter which continent or nation
and plan to leave there problems at the log-in screen. Finally, and most
importantly, I expect the guild to have fun doing whatever activity we do
together.

8. Age:*

I am 23 years old.

9. Time Zone:*

Pacific Standard Time.

10.Role-Play experience/expectations. Can you give us some examples of
Role-Playing you have participated in before. When it comes to expectations,
give us an example of what would be fun to participate in, what you are looking
for, etc.*

Most of Role-Play lately has been
limited to Table Top games, such as Pathfinder, Legend of the Five Rings, and
D20 Modern. While in World of Warcraft, I did participate in the occasional RP
concerning my Paladin, and even had a backstory prepped for him and was setting
up for a huge over-arcing plot with a Shaman friend of mine who was going by
the name of Autumndirge at the time. However, as Drenden is not a strictly RP
server, the plans fell through. I love to participate in RPs where we go into
the character’s stories, play through just simply walking down a street. I love
to develop the character’s history, make it as rich as the planet we are on. I
like to put meat on my character’s personality. Oh, and Drama. Delicious Drama,
how I love how you drive character development oh so wonderfully. Yum (I mean
Character Drama, not Guild Drama. Oh god, please no Guild Drama).

11. How can you benefit and help the guild? Please include any skills or
talents you have that you would enjoy doing within the guild. How have you
helped your previous guild(s), if you have previous experience?*

Well, I love to teach new players
dungeons and/or instances that we might end up doing, and I don’t mind leading
small raids. I love to do research on my class, finding the best ways to
maximize the performance of an individual so the guild can excel. As for RP
things I can do, I enjoy being a sound board for people’s ideas for character
backgrounds, and I enjoy reading through those same backgrounds. I don’t mind
helping a person find inconsistencies in a character. I also wouldn’t mind
leading a guild sanctioned RP Event, however, I wouldn’t want to do this
without participating in a few of them first.

12. How do you define a quality member?*

A quality member…is a man or a
woman who is willing to take a few minutes and listen to a guild member when
they are having a bad day. A quality member is someone who will log in and lend
a hand. A quality member puts the guild before themselves, because they want
too, not because they feel obligated to. Finally, a quality member treats the
guild as an online family, because that is what the Guild is.

13. How did you find the Army of Light? Did someone recruit you? If so, please
let us know who.*

I found the Army of Light while
reading through the Fan Friday posts. I read TwanTaylor’s post in the 1/14/2011
Fan Friday and decided to take a look at you guys. I liked what I saw and here
I am.

14a.Have you visited our website and chat room, and familiarized yourself with
the, Charter, Mission Statement, and Rules of Conduct? (You must answer in the
affirmative and please prove that you have)*

This one I had issues with. I
searched the site and recruitment thread, but I couldn’t anything labeled
Charter or Mission statement. I read through both the recruitment thread and most of the site and liked what I saw. I did
read the chat and forum policies, and agree with them fully.

14b. Do you pledge to fulfill them, most notably to uphold the virtues of
Maturity, Honor, Respect, Personal Ethics and No Drama?*

Yes.

15. Would you say that you embody the qualities of Respect, Honor, Loyalty, and
Maturity? What are your definitions of these four words? Please don’t just
answer yes or no, let us know why you think you possess these qualities.*

I believe I possess the qualities
of Respect, Honor, Loyalty and Maturity. To me, Respect and Maturity go hand in
hand with one another. If you do not respect your fellow man or woman, how can
you truly treat them with the Maturity they deserve? The same can be said in
reverse. If you aren’t very Mature, you won’t treat people with Respect. Honor
and Loyalty work the same way. If you don’t Honor your guild mates, you won’t
be very Loyal to them. If you aren’t Loyal to your guild mates, then you will
Dishonor them. It isn’t a question of if, but a question of When with these
four facets.

To give you guys a better
understanding of why I think I possess these qualities, I mentioned earlier
that when I quit playing World of Warcraft, it was because I had to make the
choice between the game and school, work, or my fiancé. I chose to drop the
game because if I didn’t complete school, I could never get a better job that
would give me the money to truly support a family. If I had quit my job, I
would never have been able to go to school. Finally, if I chose to dump my fiancé,
well then I wouldn’t have deserved the second chance I got to go back to
school. So, I chose to stop playing World of Warcraft so that I could stay
Loyal to my fiancé, to Respect my future family by completing my schooling, to
be Mature enough to realize that World of Warcraft was not more important than
my job. Finally I wanted to Honor the memory of my grandfather, a geneticist
who worked with wheat for Washington State University. He developed hundreds of
drought, disease, and weather resistant variations of the grain products. He
never could of done that if hadn’t finished school.

16. In more than 30 but less than 100 words, please describe your personal
character and the type of person you are (We wish to get a good feel of the
type of person that will be becoming a part of our guild family)*

I feel that my personal character
is one of Patience and Passion. My Patience comes in my ability to teach a
group of people how to defeat a boss, to analyze and work my butt off so the
guild can prosper. My passion is helping younger members so they can become as
great as the guild that accepted them.

17. Tell us a little about your in-game character*
-Character Name: Cosan
-Character
Physical/Mental Features:
(Physical Features are still to be
determined…I really am unsure of what race to make him yet). Cosan’s
personality is that of a Paladin. Protector of the weak and the Storm that
destroys those who threaten the one’s that Cosan protects, Cosan won’t stop his
mission, whichever one he sets out, until either the mission is completed,
fully and completely, or he dies trying. His greatest weakness is his temper, a
struggle that rarely bests him, but is always waging in the back of his mind.
-Character Biography: (Still playing around with ideas about which
planet and race to make Cosan. Unsure as of yet, and I would love someone to
bounce ideas off of.)

18. Final Note: If you have any
questions, please send me a personal message or an email at gannydonaldson@gmail.com. I did try
to log in to the chat service on the Army of Light website, but I couldn’t get
in. Enjoy my application, and I hope to hear from you soon.
